{this moment}

A Friday ritual inspired by  Soulemama

In her words: "A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week.  A simple, special, extraordinary moment.  A moment I want to pause, savor and remember."

Season's Change...Week 34

Season:  one of the four periods of the year (spring, summer, autumn, and winter), beginning astronomically at an equinox or solstice, but geographically at different dates in different climates.

Every morning on our way to my daughters school  we go past a ranch with a long row of big trees that surely change with the seasons but we hardly notice.  My kids and I have decided to embark on a project that will help us notice that gradual change on the trees.  My daughter Sophia  will take at least a weekly picture after school for a whole year, I will post it on my blog entry on Thursdays and my little one Xavi wants in it too so he will take a picture of some cows from a different ranch and improve his picture taking skills.

This picture was taken on 5-25-11, it was 80 degrees F  By the way thanks for sticking with me we're on week 34 and soon it will be a year that we started this project!  Big hug to you all my readers!

Cow story:  the cows we used to take pictures of have been missing since December.  Kids are on the lookout!

Shall we stick to horses instead??

I tried to call these two so I can take a picture of them but really had no idea how to...I whistled at them with no luck! lol!!

Picture or not I am proud!

I just got back from an awards assembly.

...I can't believe my battery died again!
This dumb camera doesn't tell
me that the battery is about to die!
I guess I have to carry spare batteries all the time with me!

Never mind that...nothing beats the awesome feeling
of hearing my daughter's name and see her walk up on stage
to receive her awards!
Sometimes I feel that I am too hard on her
but when moments like this come,
it makes it all worth it!
picture or not I feel so proud of my Sophie!  Teardrop.

How to enjoy strawberries

This is the way Sophia enjoys her favorite fruit, strawberries.  Right after school...

Delicious, won't you agree?

I tell her 'Sophia do your hair missy!'
she answers no way strawberries come first!
She likes messy hair anyways.

This picture was taken on 5-18-11, we've had rain these past couple of two days.  Rain is good.

Cow story:  the cows we used to take pictures of have been missing since December.  Kids are on the lookout!

Definitely rain makes it harder to go out and look for cows...but rain won't stop me and Xavi going to the Post Office to drop off my etsy packages.  This is not my local Post Office but it's the one I rather go to! Smaller office, no waiting line, faster service and nice people!  They treat me good therefore I come back!

..and I did!

I just had to make this a special post!
remember yesterdays facts?  about the bike of my own...
well I did...I got one!
a couple of weeks ago I picked up my mother in law
from the airport and in the chat I mentioned that
I had the intention to get a bike and learn how to ride one
she said she had one in her garage just sitting there!
she said I could have it!
and this Saturday just before the Baby Shower we picked it up!
I am so excited it needs some work, such a new brakes and
a padded seat...and I want a basket on it!
I will ask my brother the fisherman for help!
I'm sure it will be ready for this summer
to ride along with my kids!
I am really so excited ;)
I never had my own bike and now I do!

Baby shower.

We went to a Baby shower in Santa Fe Springs, CA yesterday.
My husband's cousin is having a baby a baby boy in three weeks.

We put up a pair of nice shoes, and I finally got
to wear a dress!

I hate pictures of me, but I told Sophia to snap a
picture of me when I wasn't looking!

We had lots good food, they had a taco catering service
I apologize for not taking a picture I was too busy eating!

 ...and good desserts too!

The kids had fun playing, with their cousins

Xavi found a pretty girl he liked.
This is Jacqui another cousin of my husband
Xavi asked us when do I get to met her?
He blushed when when went and asked for a picture!
but he gave her a tight hug.
and didn't want to leave without saying goodbye to her.

You know every Baby Shower has games!  like guess the price
me and Sophia didn't have much luck in that!

Another contest was drinking the baby bottle!  full of beer!!
My husband didn't win his excuse was cheap hot beer!

That was our fun for this Saturday,
today we will just relax at home!
Hope your having fun on your weekend!

This picture was taken on 5-10-11, it was a nice foggy morning!
so where is the fog, you might be thinking!

Right down the next street, the pretty fog wasn't there when I came back 30 minutes later
...go figure nature won't wait for me right??

Cow story:  the cows we used to take pictures of have been missing since December.  Kids are on the lookout!
This time we though of searching for cows in Sophia's school

there is a lot of grass, cows like grass right?

but nature called for Sophia...

and for Xavi!

and then the bell rang!

who knows where we will be searching next week?
