Finished Project

Well it has taken me forever to finish this project but here it is! At last,  adorable or so I think and it practically cost me nothing  Let me tell you the story behind the scenes.
I picked up this desk on a curb... free for the asking!  The owner even helped me load it in the back of my truck he really was a nice guy.  I'd really love to show him a picture.  I gave it a couple of coats of paint and it looks good as new.  My daughter here posing for the camera I even told her you need to do your hair she says no it's OK (she loves it freestyle)

I bought this cute chair at a thrift store a couple of weeks later.  It was on sale at 50% off.  The final prize was $3.50 for reals!  Can you believe what a bargain?  Perfect size for the desk and the kids.  I also gave it a coat of paint.

I braided this mat out vintage sheets that I also bought at various thrift shops.  It took me a long time to cut, braid and then sew them together.  In the middle of the project I thought to myself why do I get myself into this? but I really put my heart, mind and hands into finish it and I am so proud of myself that I did it before the summer was over uff!!!

Yes I know!  Before you even say or think anything I need to get rid of that blue!  It was here when we moved...I worked on this cute origami butterfly garland  made out of vintage music paper, ribbon, and fabric.  I have a similar garland at my etsy shop

My daughter helped cut out the stripes and staple them together to make this cute paper heart garland we need to add more hearths to it to make it longer but we are happy as it is right now so who knows...

Ta da!!  Here is the final result a nice clean desk for my kids to read books or do homework.  I am loving it!  Except the blue...

What to buy on a Wednesday...

This Wednesday I have decided to search Etsy items for  my three year old boy soon to be four.  His name is Xavi and he is such a boy.  He is such a protector he is constantly asking me thorough the day "Mom how are you doing? Are you okay Mom?" My sweet super Hero...

What to buy on a Wednesday...

I have been wanting to do this for a long time and hopefully I can keep up with it.  On Wednesdays I will make a list of six items that I'd love to have either for me or for a loved one! All of these lovely picks from great Etsy artists. Go ahead peek at their shops.  I am sure they won't mind!  Here is my first selection dedicated to my eight year old daughter that dreams of being a  world famous Rock star, although I want her to be a doctor or  lawyer...Whatever she becomes I wish her to be successful in life!  I love you my dear Sophia!  By the way my daughter totally looks like the little girl in the last pic
