Seasons Change...Week 22

Season:  one of the four periods of the year (spring, summer, autumn, and winter), beginning astronomically at an equinox or solstice, but geographically at different dates in different climates.

Every morning on our way to my daughters school  we go past a ranch with a long row of big trees that surely change with the seasons but we hardly notice.  My kids and I have decided to embark on a project that will help us notice that gradual change on the trees.  My daughter Sophia  will take at least a weekly picture after school for a whole year, I will post it on my blog entry on Thursdays and my little one Xavi wants in it too so he will take a picture of some cows from a different ranch and improve his picture taking skills.

This picture taken on 3-1-11 and here is the close up, we are going to focus on the first tree.  March is already here and Spring just around the corner!


Cow story:  the cows we used to take pictures of have been missing since December.  Kids are on the lookout!

This time in order to look for the cows we though of going for a walk to our neighborhood park.  We took the long way and started walking on a pretty trail.

the trail is just next to our street!

I told the kids put the soccer ball in  a bag, that way no temptations while walking and the ball does not end up in the street!

sure enough, no kicking but Sophia was punching  the ball all the way until...

she hit Xavi with it!  He was ok...we had a laugh!

we finish the trail and started walking on the street...notice no sidewalks so we had to be extra careful!

lots of houses still for sale in case you'd like to be our neighbors!

we finally got to the park, the kids played some soccer, the wind was cold!

let's go I told them!  I'm freezing!  this is what I got in return... thumbs down!  But we headed back to the house!  and no cows to be seen at our neighborhood park!
