Spring break and life...

The kids have a week off for Spring break.  So they are sound asleep as I type all three of them yay!  We went to the drive in last Friday and watched Batman vs. Superman.  Javier had taken the kids to the movies and Valeria did take them too but I haven't been to the movies since Emma was born so we thought the drive-in was a nice option for me to join in the fun.  Sure enough Emma fell asleep and as a confession I almost did too.  I made a comment on the way home that I was really expecting my man Robert Downy Jr. AKA Iron Man to be in it...you know super heroes?  Xavi explained that this was the League of Justice Iron man is in the Avengers.  Oh ok sowhat do I know about super heroes then?

The most amazing thing happened while at the drive-in.  Out of nowhere came this red ball of fire in the sky that disappeared behind the big screen!  I've never ever seen a wishing star before, it was humongous Javier and Sophia saw it as well.  Xavi, well he was into the movie. So that was astonishing,  I hope I wished my dream on time.

I was due for labs for my hemoglobin A1C levels six month period.  I am now more than ever conscious about the things I eat but once in a while depending on my emotions I really let go and let's just say indulge...and sometimes when I am feeling low I plain don't care and eat whatever but then guilt comes later. I was thinking that I messed things up with all the Easter chocolates and goodies this weekend but labs came back and I am within normal range. Yay!

In Emma's news, she is still not walking.  Nobody is rushing her. She holds on to whatever is at hand and pulls herself up, holds on to the coffee table and "walks around it" holding on it.  She also cruises around the kitchen holding onto the dishwasher and the fridge leaving tiny hand prints...sigh.  She did take a step a few days back but decided she is not ready.  She loves to play with her plastic cups and bowls and stacks them or puts them inside each other then dumps them.  Then do it again.  She does this in the kitchen while I cook. My little helper there.
Here you can see she found the piano keyboard and of course wanted to see what it was all about.  She is so curious about everything. and is imitating what other people does.  I love that stage :)

Talking about music Xavi has come a long way with his trumpet lessons.  He comes home and shows me what he's learned and also learns new songs from watching you-tube for example the Stars Wars Theme. Just last week he was playing the Ode To Joy.  Oh I know that song I learned it Middle school I told him.  I said bring out your recorder and we can play it together.
No.
He said bluntly.
No hard feelings Xavi ho hard feeling.

Sophia wants to look for a job :/  She's researched for companies that hire 14 year olds.  She has also researched about child labor laws.  Oh this child of mine.  One thing is for sure this Summer she will go and volunteer at the Public Library but if it was a paid job of course she'd be more happy. She turned in a job application at Baskin Robbins.  Chances are slim that she will land a job at this age,.  She has no need to get a job but I applaud her for trying.

Well that's it for now my friends I hope you've had a nice week so far and higher hopes for a better weekend!

happy new year

Hello guys!  Happy New Year!  I hope everyone one had a wonderful and blessed Christmas.
Sadly this season comes to an end as Christmas break is over.  Javier just left for work I feel good knowing that he will be back home tonight.   The kids are still asleep as I type this but soon I will have to wake them up to get ready for school...uggh I remember that feeling :(

I have a couple of things to share with you.   Emma finally started crawling!  She's been crawling officially for 6 days now!  She's on the move :/

I dropped my phone on New Year's Eve and broke the screen...oh well time to get a new phone.
Sophia's ipod screen also cracked but luckily it had insurance so it has been sent for repair.  She is dealing with withdrawal symptoms right now 10 WHOLE DAYS without it it's an eternity for her. Luckily she has her lap top to stay connected.  Last but not least my washer broke down yesterday.  Javier rapidly took it apart and thinks he knows what the problem is so he ordered the parts and will try to repair it. I am lucky my man is a handyman!

Rain is in the forecast for the first four days of the week so this will get interested...since this valley get flooded with the smallest amount of rain, anyways I leave with this picture of Emma at Valeria's apartment wishing you a blessed 2016!

love

Loverboy aka Xavi has struck again.  This time is another classmate named Talyn.
He has such a big crush on her.
He says she is so fun to be around and that they have so many things in common,
she plays legos and beyblades.  Ok.
He is yet again drawing hearts and planning his future oh my lover boy :/
...and that sitting in a tree song! ughhh!! My husband says this boy will marry young, I tell him he needs to get a degree first and then think of girls he says "ok mami"... we'll see.

On the other hand while browsing the aisles at target specifically the Valentines section
(yes breach and all  I still shop at target)
Sophia mumbled:
"Ughhh!  I hate Valentine's Day...it reminds me of how single I am and how I haven't found my true love!"

My thoughts:
*Dear Sophie aka Drama Queen, you will find your true love one day!  It's not the time yet...so I tell your brother.  You been reading way too much teen fiction.  Too much!

Meanwhile while the people in my family fix their love problems or lack of to celebrate Valentine's day, family and friendship we will bake a cake such as this one on Friday.  This will get everybody's spirits up.

Thanksgiving family trip

Hello my dear friends.  I hope you all had a wonderful and refreshing Thanksgiving Holiday. As you remember my kids had a whole week off school.  Xavi had a mini Thanksgiving feast in his class where parents and kids sat and ate together.  The kids read poems and sang song of Thanksgiving.  I love this first picture as I was trying to get Xavi's attention and this little girl was just staring at me.

We crossed the border to Mexico on Wednesday.
We stopped in Tijuana for some carne asada tacos,
how how I miss them! You know thew real tacos!!

Then we stayed at a house rental in Ensenada Mexico, a coastal city that was only a 1 1/2 hour drive.
By 'we' I mean my family of five, my sister's family of six, my brother's family of three, my brother's family of two my mom and two dogs.  That is a total of 17 people and two dogs.  The only two family members missing was my dad (he never wants to come anywhere) and my nephew who lives in Arizona.

On Thanksgiving morning we hiked down a 3 mile trail ( that seemed longer than three miles)
Specially going back up the trail!

This is one of my favorite pictures my mom and my nephew!

My brother and baby Diego

I figured I won't have many more opportunities to climb down a rope, so I hanged to it for dear life! I am posing for a picture. Look that's PJ staring at me.

Grandma taking care of the baby!

These are the brave souls that climbed down to the beach!  and the bravest ones took off their clothes and went in the cold water in their underwears.

Our final destination was a lovely little beach that we had all to ourselves.  There were some fascinating under water caves.

When we got back to the rental home, my brother started cooking the turkey.  He's perfected his recipe and makes a delicious grilled turkey.  We the rest of the ladies worked on the side dishes.  We ate our Thanksgiving dinner right next to the beach near the fire and we gave thanks.

Some of the men went fishing on Friday.
It was a great experience!  Of course we had the picky eaters, the scrapped knees, the pooping crying babies, it never fails somebody being sick on the trip, ah yes and the family disagreements!  It would not be a complete family vacation without any of these. This is how families make memories I say!

I hope you had a great and restful and wonderful Thanksgiving!
Today back to reality.

Nature's Love

Even mother nature spells out Love

As we waited in the High School parking lot last week  for
Valeria to get out of School,
the kids get out of the car
to run around.
Sophia spotted this Heart in the middle of the grass!
I didn't have my camera with me that day,
and the following day I forgot it also!!
But the next day it was still there!
Thank goodness because sure enough the
following day early in the morning
the gardener was mowing the grass
and no more heart!

Just wanted to share!

Happy Valentine's day enjoy it with your loved ones!

2010 Reflections

I started 2010 with great expectations...pregnancy expectations... that failed...I can't deny I still feel sad to think about our failed Invitro... I shed lots of tears... secrets tears because I wanted to look strong but at times I still I dare to ask God why??  Only he knows the reason, after all he is our maker and he knows best. Now I try to focus not only on what I want but on what he wants for me.
In 2010 We grew more comfortable in our new home and new town.  As a mom and wife I tried to do my best to take care of my family.  As a business woman I put my heart into my etsy shop and I am happy to say it grew oh! and I opened a second shop.  I also put more effort into my blog and found new sweet friends that I thank God for. We, The Aguilar's are ending this year together with health and happiness. Enough reasons to thank God. I make a toast and wish for all of us a Happy New Year!

"When you're lonely, I wish you Love!
When you're down, I wish you Joy!
When you're troubled, I wish you Peace!
When things seem empty, I wish you Hope!
Have a Happy New Year!" - Anonymous
