Crochet along Mary Jane Slippers

This time I made a pair of slippers  for Sophia.
She really loved them.
Remember I had done some other different kind of slippers before?  This time I learned a couple of new tricks.  Such as DC 3 together on the last row before closing up the slippers and SC 3 together to round up the corners. These are really easy to whip up in one sitting really.

I don't think I am at the corner of expert and pro yet, but I really liked how these came out.

Sophia got a little carried away with her feet modeling
What do you think??

Come and check out the link up party at The Curious Pug

31. YOURSELF

Today is day 31 the last day of January and the challenge is over.  Yay!  I accomplished it and the last prompt is 'YOURSELF'.  It is probably the hardest for me :/  According to Sophia this is the best picture I took.

30.  DOWN

Hey I'm up here!  While at the Medical offices, poor Sophia got some shots and blood drawn.  She was brave but certainly a drama queen, she said she saw the 'light' silly girl.

29.  GROW

For today's post 'GROW'  I was thinking to take a picture of a plant or a flower...doesn't grow always make you think of a plant??
Well I went to Michaels this morning to get some supplies that I needed and while checking out this is a little conversation between me and the saleslady.

Saleslady:  We have this pad of scrapbooking paper on clearance."
Me:  "Don't tempt me, I love paper."
Saleslady: "It's only $2.00"
Me:  "I will take it.  You are a good salesperson"

I scored a super paper pad of 205 pieces of pretty paper for only $2.00!  Can't go wrong on that one ;)

That's where the growing part comes in.
I wish money could grow on my bank account!

Out of the corner of my eye I see my Sophie having breakfast and reading a book she really cannot put down,  Eleven years ago I held her in my arms for the first time ♥
Who would have thought that that 6 pounder baby would have become a little book worm.  I love her so much.

14.  SOMETHING YELLOW

Washing dishes is an endless task we all know it right?.
I don't use my dishwasher machine too often,
I don't know why really.  So I do it by hand :/

Now Palmolive is helping us infuse our kitchen with freshness.
Really!  Great scents and the same cleaning power bottled beautifully.
Yes you can have it all.

Inluenster is a community of social media trendsetters that
share opinions and experiences of different products.

I was selected to participate in one of their programs and was sent a box to review.  When I opened it I was surprised to see the three pretty bottles of Palmolive concentrated Fresh Infusions and to read the manes of the scents was just relaxing including ginger white tea, lemon thyme and lime basil. Basically it sounded like a cup of tea!

I shared one of the bottles with my sister, she picked  ginger white tea.  I also shared a picture on my personal facebook page and my cousin asked if they were edible!?!?  They really look desirable and inviting.  I was eager to try my dish washing liquid and I picked lemon thyme it works on grease and it works great.  And the best thing they do the nasty job of doing dishes more enjoyable with that natural inspired scent.

If you'd like to try Palmolive Fresh Infusions you can find them at Walmart or Target.  You won't regret it really! :)

Disclaimer:  I received these products complimentary from Influenster and was not compensated in any other way.  All opinions are my own.

9.  Paper

I was taking pictures for my etsy shop and loved how this
hand dyed paper doilies came out.

I take this opportunity to share with you an email I received yesterday from a repeated customer that made a recent purchase:

Hello Claudia,

Your beautifully wrapped package arrived yesterday. Thank you!

Receiving an order from you is like Christmas. Each item is so charmingly presented and then to top it off all packaged together in cheerful wrapping paper. A real treat. As always, every item I ordered is even more impressive than the photos online.

Thank you so much for the extra goodies too. The fabric rose bookmark is very cool. I will enjoy using it. I also appreciate your tucking in the extra notecards and envelopes. You are very generous and kind.

I love your paper art  - you make it fun to drop notes to friends and family. I am already looking forward to needing to order more again. It's so fun browsing your site.

Thank so much Claudia. You are awesome.

Cheers,
(signed by my customer)

I do take pride in customer service!  Happy customers make me happy and this email totally made my day and made me proud.

January 2013 Photo A Day Challenge...Day 8

8.  Something beginning with "T"

A tank, technically a fish tank.  We've had it for about five years I would say.  It is a rather small tank 20 gallons.  The place had just had a renovation.  This past Sunday I cleaned it and put new plants and new rocks.  Its inhabitants are four fishes.  The big guy here which is really 2 1/2 inches of body and 2 1/2 inches of tail (or dress as my niece calls it) and three more little goldfishes.

But do not be fool.  That big guy there with the fancy and flaunting white veil as a tail is really a killer.  He is Sophia's precious fish and has been with us since the beginning.  None of the original inhabitants are here to tell the story.  Every now and then we found biten or dead bodies and we figured it was just their time to die.

It wasn't until recently that we figured out that it was this guy who got rid of most of the fish population in this tank.  We had a bottom dweller (the kind that cleans the tank) who hardly moved very  inactive guy, well one morning I noticed he was dead.  Since he was Xavi's fish we bought him another one.  Now this new one was very active and I spotted him more than once poking that fancy white tail.  Soon he was dead too.  We later bought a small crab for Xavi and thought that Sophia's fish will not harm him.  We were wrong.  He is a gonner also.  For now we don't plan on buying any more.

Specially me because maintaining a tank is a lot of work.  Just like the Christmas tree everybody is excited to put it up and when it's time to take it down nobody is around.  Same with the tank when it comes to clean it up I don't see any volunteers :/
