Today I have a question for you? Who likes driving long trips? ok not that long of a trip...let's say 1 1/2 hours driving on the freeway. Now some of you might like it but I don't see many hands up!
Eighty miles of driving during rush hour 1 1/2 hours at least, destination being San Diego and with two children in the car is not an easy task. We do this almost every weekend. I have to make the best of it because even though we've done this routine ever since we moved to Hemet, the complaining never fails "I am hungry", "I need to go to the bathroom", "how much longer??", "are we there yet??" and for some reason Sophia always comes up with this "oh mom I forgot to tell you" and then comes the bad part, she was benched during recess not her fault of course she always says, or she did not do very good on a math test, or forgot to turn in a paper :/ We usually stop for pizza to feed the hungry crowds and make sure we've all gone to the bathroom before heading to America's finest city.

These are my simple rules:
- no bathroom stops unless absolutely positively necessary!!!
- no fighting
- radio is mine( they are always welcomed to sing along)
- enjoy the scenery
One of Sophia and Xavi's favorite song at the time among many others!
Now, tell me do you sing and drive?
I like this song too!! Yes, I sing and drive. :)
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI like your rules! But don't like singing on long trips, would stop all traffic!
ReplyDeleteWould you believe it , the first rule is what the husband always tells me on every trip we make :P
ReplyDeleteunless of course I am driving , coz then he has to listen to me sing ;)
I don't always sing but yes every now and then I do sing along to any favorites that play ..
lol!!
Deletefor my job going between clients' homes, courts, and schools.. I am in my car a ton. and I totally sing and dance in the car! and My Heart's a Stereo is one I love!!!
ReplyDeletegrowing up I was in the car a ton also. For the really long trips (like 14 hours) my mom bought store-bought cookies (which never happened in our household) and every hour we would get 1 or 2 cookies. We played all sorts of games "I'm going on a trip and in my suitcase I'm bringing..." (the memory game); "I'm thinking of an animal" (a guessing game like 21 questions); I spy; trying to get all 50 states of license plates we past...
and if I complained I got to do homework or flashcards. So I never complained :)
I totally see why you never complained ah!!
