I am taking control

I am taking control of my body and my health, because honestly I am the only one that can!!
Remember these love handles? well they are still there and not going away.  I am tired of my body looking like a tamale.  I have been trying on clothes and totally hate to look in the mirror.

You see I am short 5' 1" I lied on my Driver's license  what is an inch anyway right??

When I got married I weighed 120 lbs. 13 yrs and two kids later I am at 135 lbs.  I can always say it's not that bad but lately what I saw on the scale scared me 137, 138, 139 what?????  Ok, Ok, blame it on the slowing metabolism, and the fact that I  sit to watch a movie eating ice cream and the can of whipped cream by my side :/

I have never exercised in my life except in High School.  Barely last year I started riding my bike. 

I'd like to thank my dear friend Miss Val for the great idea of doing exercise via you tube.  Miss Val big hug and thanks to you!! I looked on you-tube for a fitness video, I was really looking for zumba class but I stumbled upon this 44 minute  taebo video that I liked.  I might later find a zumba one.

So I bought me my first exersice top ( I was lucky to find it on clearance by the way at $3.99 at Sears) I totally think that was fate!  I plan to do the video two times a week.


I also plan to ride my bike more often, for example not only on the weekends but also as soon as I drop off the kids at school twice a week.

Another thing I plan to commit on is change some of my eating habits.  Nothing  drastic but basically making betters choices  such as eating more fruits and veggies, adding more fiber and drinking more water and of course slow down of the junk food.  

Now I don't pretend to look like a super model but I want to feel better
about myself and hope that these changes will help.  And if I don't
loose the love handles at least I will do it for health's sake.

I feel motivated!

  1. Wish you good luck, Claudia! I do every morning exercises. If I forgot, then I feel some pains, and all the day feels bad. So it is good motivation, do not forget exercises :)

  2. I would love to be 140 lbs Claudia! :) I'm jealous! This will be the best decision you will ever make. Exercise makes you feel better and stronger :) After Micaela moved away I needed to do something to pass the time since we spent every moment outside of work together and that's when I started to exercise. It's great because it's also my "me" time and stress reliever. I wish you luck Claudia! You can do it! And what a cute top to start this journey on! p.s. that tamale looks delicious! :( I have to change my eating habits too - that's my biggest struggle!

  3. I'm rooting for you Mi Clau! I know you can do it!! We can help each other on this journey :)I have to say that you are beautiful the way you are, but I understand what you mean. Pero te digo algo tu no tienes love handles, si yo te ensenara mis ruedas para que veas lo que es estar pero bien gorda! Pero si podemos, yo se que lo vamos a lograr! Yo tengo un video que se llama "Jillian Michaels:30 Day shred" has visto The Biggest Loser? She' one of the personal trainers that helps them lose SO much weight! I bought the video on ebay, really cheap. Te lo recomiendo porque es un 30 minute workout y es espectacular!! It will leave you sore, but it works :)

  5. I am so happy I could help. :) You can do this! A couple of my girlfriends have recently dropped quite a bit of weight through healthly, controlled eating and exercise! One of them goes for bike rides with the kids and they have so much fun and are exercising at the same time! It just takes dedication. Once you are into the swing of things, you will feel so much better, especially with eating healthy. Keep up the good work!
