They survived...

So I was away from my family this weekend.  Hard thing to do! As I am a stay home mom and always in control of my home  Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.   Not to mention that I drove 1 1/2hrs to my destination each way.  I took three classes:  CPR, First Aid and Preventative practices.

We cover so many topics including: the abc's of CPR, rescue breathing, mouth-to-mask breathing, choking: adult, child and infant , adult and child CPR, automated external defibrillator, recovery position, types of wounds, controlling bleeding, eye injuries, mouth and teeth injuries, impaled objects, internal bleeding, shock, muscle, bone and joint injuries, head and spine injuries, burns including heat, chemical or electrical, poisoning, bites and stings, sudden illnesses seizures, diabetic emergencies, asthma, fainting, element exposure...OMG all in one Saturday!

On Sunday we covered four very important topics:
Infection control
Immunizations
Child abuse
Disaster preparedness

While I was in the class, I could not stop thinking about my husband and his luck with the little ones and I would ask myself: would they make it without me being there??  I just had to call them every time I got the opportunity.  Sure enough my husband reassured me that everything was fine.  Once the class was finished and I was on my way home, they were patiently waiting for me to go to the park.  Even though I needed to go pee, have something to eat and iron my husband's work shirts...they waited for me!  I got there and things were fine!  I did not have to perform CPR or First Aid on anybody.  Learned that my three year picked his own clothes and got dressed all by himself.  My 8 year old took a shower without anybody's help to do her hair and my fourteen year old  did the dishes without nobody asking her to do them.  But Mama is back and now they all need her help again, just gotta love them!  By the way http://www.amerimedcpr.com/  great place to take courses.

  1. Congratulations on completing this important class! I've gone through these for both children and adults and it is so much information! It sounds like you have a great husband who can hold the fort down when you are not around.
