Seasons Change Week 26

Season:  one of the four periods of the year (spring, summer, autumn, and winter), beginning astronomically at an equinox or solstice, but geographically at different dates in different climates.

Every morning on our way to my daughters school  we go past a ranch with a long row of big trees that surely change with the seasons but we hardly notice.  My kids and I have decided to embark on a project that will help us notice that gradual change on the trees.  My daughter Sophia  will take at least a weekly picture after school for a whole year, I will post it on my blog entry on Thursdays and my little one Xavi wants in it too so he will take a picture of some cows from a different ranch and improve his picture taking skills.

These pictures were taken on 3-30-11  on a nice sunny day...or should I say hot?  I don't think I am ready for the heat!

We had a nice surprise when we drove up to the trees to take the pictures.  You see that guy in the lower left hand side behind the fence?  yes, two nosy horses showed up their faces.  What am I talking nosy??  I am the intruder right?  they were just doing their business.  Xavi was so excited "mom get the horses!!

Cow story:  the cows we used to take pictures of have been missing since December.  Kids are on the lookout!

So this week we kept on looking for the cows, we stopped at this building where some nice murals are painted.  This time we were looking for some information that could lead us to the cows.

So first the kids  stopped and checked the murals!

Sophia read the info to Xavi

Well that doesn't help us much in finding the cows does it??

Pretty murals!  Pretty impressive!

So kids will be kids!  Let's play a little!

Let's ask this guy!!   No help here!  Till next week!

What to buy on a Wednesday...dresses

As I was growing up I remember me and my mom going shopping for pretty fabric, ruffles and matching buttons.  I always wore pretty dresses on Sundays...pretty dresses she had specially handmade for my by this lovely old lady name Polita.  Polita sew beautiful dresses!

But my tween and teens years came and I told my mom I didn't want to wear dresses anymore!  Then came the years when I started going to church and nobody would make me wear a dress or a skirt!   All of a sudden dresses came back to my closet I guess I started liking boys and now at this point in my life I am back to no dresses at all!

But I have this urge to wear dresses again this spring and summer seasons I will be 40 this year and want to feel pretty again I'd like to shave my legs and feel feminine!  The problem I have...I hate showing too much skin!  A small cleavage is fine, nothing above the knee, and absolutely no spaghetti straps!  Picky aren't I??

So I browsed etsy to get me going on some inspiration and this is what I found!

I absolutely could wear any of these summer dresses i love the length, some shoulder shown
in there...something new for me but I'd be willing to try it!
dresses by flowersun

This one is flirty and feminine!  I love the length too!

I like the neck and the color on this one!  I could wear this one with a shrug or a
bolero to cover my shoulders!  by laurafauna

I loved the 3/4 sleeves on this one and the collar details!

I loved this soft cotton dress and the tie neck detail!

Notice most of them are pain colors??  yup that's me, not a lot of prints.  I will be looking out for dresses this season and promise that if I find some that I really like I will post pictures of me wearing them! Promise!  Pinky Promise!!

Seasons Change...Week 25

Here it is again, the very first tree and its sprouting.   Pictures taken on 3-24-11 We've had rain for a couple of days now and there is some more rain of the forecast for the weekend!  I'm loving this project because it's making me realize how mother nature takes its time...

Cow story:  the cows we used to take pictures of have been missing since December.  Kids are on the lookout!

Sometimes Sophia gets bummed when we tell her we saw or went to this specific place while she is at school.  So this is a great opportunity to show her new places she does not get to see during the day.  This time we went to an unfinished construction site.  The kids called it the 'haunted house'.

So here we go!
How do we get in there??

Yup!  call us the trio of trespassers now!

A little help here!

Of course we didn't get in there!  I am way too chicken!
The kids are much braver than I am!

There wasn't any cows on the East side of Hemet!

But it's fun planning our next site to visit!
