Family fun and other things

One thing I realize when having a full house is that man these people eat every three to four hours!  My husband is cooking now and then, I also have pulled out the cereal boxes from the pantry once or twice for breakfast.  The kids keep on taking out toys and I keep telling them to clean up.  Or at least pretend they have cleaned up.

A couple of days ago we went to Idyllwild.  Not much snow, but it was cold.   My nose turned red and Xavi was sorry he didn't take his beanie, he borrowed his dad's for a while.  We bought coffee and hot chocolate and stopped by the local bakery.

This is one small rental space that I have been eying, one day I will have a shop here to sell my little creations.

Not much to do but eat and watch TV and wait for
the New Year to come.

Here is an opportunity to laugh at my last years goals...I worked on some I didn't on others. So there!  This year no resolutions...

One thing I want to do for this coming month of January is

It sounds like fun, so hopefully   I will accomplish it.  If I don't get to post the picture on the same day I will post it the next day.  So wish me luck on this one.

I wish you my friends the best for 2013

Crochet along slouchy hat project

Two days before the New Year rings, I am happy to report that I am having a nice break.

This month I  decided to join Alycia from The Curious Pug

I've told you before that I do not how to read patterns, this was my main reason for joining plus the slouchy hat seemed super easy.  And let me tell you it was.

I sat down and started watching a movie on Netflix, carefully reading the pattern and counting the stitches.  I lost one stitch on the third row, but now problem I was able to fix that.  After the fourth row everything went very smooth.

At the end of the movie I decided to go get the ruler and it only shows how fast and easy this project can go!  The pattern calls for 9 inches and I had done 11 inches of work :/ It was time to go pick up the kids from school so I put the project on hold.

After we came home and the kids had eaten  I sat with Xavi to do his homework I picked up the project again.

The first one to try it on was him of course!

The next day I made one for the little stinker. His ninja moves while being taken a picture cannot fail, you know that!

Finally got him to put the slouchy hat the right way
and stay still!

I love it when you can do a project in one day although mine took literally ALL DAY LONG :/

But it really is super easy and remember I had mention in one of my post I didn't want to stress this Christmas? I didn't!! This was the perfect slouchy hat to crochet for nieces and nephews, for the smaller heads I just decreased one or two rows. I also did one for my husband and for my mom and for a friend...get it?? how easy and fast this is?

One of my nephews asked for a beard so I went to you tube for help and did one for him and also for Xavi.  How can you say no when they tell you
"I love you tia" (auntie)

So this is the first pattern that I read on my own!  Yay!
Thank you Alycia!

Seasons Change Second Edition...Fall Week 12

For a whole year I will try to find the awesomeness
included in all four seasons
perhaps the weather or a nature shot...
maybe display the Holidays in turn
who knows?
the sky is the limit!

Tomorrow Winter starts and also the world ends as some fanatics believe(joke)and oh boy it's cold already bone chilling temperatures!  I know I know a lot of people have it worse.

This is the last post on my Seasons Change Second Edition.  A whole year of weekly pictures another challenge that I've finished.  I've really enjoyed it and hopefully you did too.  Next year I will be back (got you there ah!  next year 12 is in days!)

There is some snow on top of the mountain .  Also, my husband and kids will have a two week winter break! yay! Hopefully we go to Idyllwild to play in the snow.    Stay warm dear friends and hug your loved ones.

Legoland a dream come true, magical memories.

Here is a recap of Xavi's first grade school trip to
Legoland California last week.

Lousy photo but great smiles.  Here is Xavi and his two friends. I kept my eye on these three the whole day as a chaperone.

All kids were beyond excited! I myself wanted to take a nap on the bus, but my sitting partner wanted to chat and chat and chat :/

The kids  had a class on frame structures and stability.

For the hands on experience they had the opportunity to build a tall tower and test it on an earthquake table.
They were later awarded a certificate as a Junior Engineer at Legoland California Resort.

Then the fun began, this is minivan made entirely out of Legos!

Xavi had a blast driving.
He was so excited that he got his driving license!

Do I have to pose?

Lego Mexican Mariachi!

Mrs Null's first grade class posing in front of Christmas tree made out of legos.

yeawh!  reindeer riding!

They also got wet on a boat ride and waited to get more wet by other boat riders.  I myself took a raincheck on this one.

Mini Land USA

The day ran very smoothly and it was filled with joy and excitement!  Having worked with kids before I forgot how fast they can move and how slow the bus can ride.  Remembering the smiling faces and gleaming eyes of the kiddos will be embedded in my memory forever.  Oh magical memories!

Cannot finish this post without acknowledging that sadly 20 families were cut short of their own memories and dreams with the loss of their little angels.  A senseless loss, a tragedy.  My heart broke into pieces while hearing the news.  I pray that God be with their families and the families of the adults that also lost their lives at Sandy Hook Elementary this past Friday.

Seasons Change Second Edition...Fall Week 11

For a whole year I will try to find the awesomeness
included in all four seasons
perhaps the weather or a nature shot...
maybe display the Holidays in turn
who knows?
the sky is the limit!

One lesson to learn during the seasons all year round :

Take everyday with a smiley face!
Be it sunny, cloudy, freezing cold or bloody hot
It can be hard
but the positive attitude will make it much easier :)

If I may give you a suggestion let me tell you
about this fictional character
that I follow on twitter and facebook

The Master of the Half Full Glass works with California Milk Processor Board to promote positivity and milk consumption.

A couple of his postings (the second one I took personally lol!)

The moon is like a clock that reminds us when it’s time to sleep and have a glass of milk before going to bed.

If you’re short, cheer up. When you stumble and fall it’ll be less painful. Your daily glass of positivity.

There you go a way to get your daily glass on positivity!
